Karen
Trubner-Kent is the owner and principal
designer of LLK Interior Design, LLC, a full service interior
design firm located in Redmond, Washington.
Karen is the only Interior Designer on the Eastside who has
trained with Sotheby’s International in London, England.
She is well versed in the European Decorative Arts, namely furniture,
porcelain, ceramics and silver, as well as Oriental ceramics
and porcelain. This experience, along with her degree in Art
History uniquely qualifies her to advise clients on their art
collections and rare antiques.
As an Interior Designer, and a member of the American Society
of Interior Designers (ASID), Karen will ensure that your home’s
furnishings, color palette and interior finishes are in harmony
with your interests, your lifestyle, and the art and collectibles
that fill your home.
The design services offered by LLK Interior Design include Professional
Design Consultations, Space Planning, Floor Plan Critiques, Furnishings
and Accessories, Custom Furniture Designs, Material and Finish
Selections and Art & Antiques Consultations.
The company’s ‘A Dancer’s Boudoir & Bath’ was
recently featured in the ASID Designer Show House at the Moore
Mansion in Seattle, Washington. LLK Interior Design also appeared
in HGTV’s Designer Challenge in June 2005 and the Seattle
Interiors Show.
Karen gives her clients peace of mind by using her expertise
to save them time and money. She knows where to locate the right
products, be it furniture, fabrics, lighting or interior finishes,
which means the work will be done faster and smarter.
Karen’s early years were spent in Los Angeles, California
and Toronto, Canada. Her family moved to the Seattle area in 1968
(when her father became chief curator of Oriental art for the Seattle
Art Museum), and she has lived here ever since. She is a graduate
of Bellevue Community College where she received her Interior Design
degree, and the University of Washington, where she earned a B.A.
in Art History. She worked for Jo Krueger Interiors before starting
her own design firm three years later. Karen also attended the
prestigious Sotheby’s Decorative Art Course in London, England,
early in her career, and continues to keep up with current trends
in art and antiques.
